Space Instrumentation at the Department of Astrophysics

Progress in observational astrophysics is largely based on advances in astronomical instrumentation.  Consequently, the participation in the development and operation of corresponding state of the art facilities both on ground and in space is a valuable complement to the astronomical research fields covered at the Department of Astrophysics of the University of Vienna.

During the last two decades a space instrumentation group has been established that with its well-recognized competences successfully participated in several space projects. And there is more to come in the future ...
